Marty didn't do anything about the comment made by James until 1998 when Marty produced the first annual "Put A Little Love In Your Heart" benefit concert, an annual benefit concert to help abused children. His first show was short one act and so he added the Kenny Rogers tribute together as a one-time performance. It went over so well that he was asked to repeat the performance at other venues. Marty, aka Kinda Kenny™ has followed Kenny's career through the years and enjoys performing the huge list of songs that Kenny had made super hits.
Marty Edwards' critically acclaimed tribute to Kenny Rogers has since, raised thousands of dollars for charities, and delighted audiences ever since! Unexpectedly, this act has taken him to parts of the world he would not have visited and he had the opportunity to meet Kenny Rogers while performing in Montana.
Kenny's parting words to Marty, "Now don't go getting me into any trouble".
A second meeting was while attending a Kenny Rogers concert. Kenny was performing and stopped his show to introduce Kinda Kenny™, Marty Edwards to the audience to show how similar Kenny and he looked.
As the #1 Kenny Rogers impersonator, Marty was 'first call' by Warner Brothers to represent Rogers in a movie produced by Clint Eastwood, called Richard Jewell (2019). Marty could not get US paperwork through and fly to Atlanta in time for the movie shoot.
